WHERE TO EAT IN BICOL?

Masiramon

I decided to create a separate post for the restaurants we tried in Bicol.
1.To go to Misibis bay ( mag paka feeling mayaman ng isang araw)
2.To eat authentic Bicol express.

I guess I was able to achieve both of it. (sabi ko nga, ACHIEVE NA ACHIEVE!!!!!)

1st try: WAWAY'S
             Bonot, Legazpi City
             Phone (052) 4808415

From the airport, we went straight to WAWAY'S. We were so hungry that time na inuna talaga namin ang kumain. Dedma muna sa things to do at sa hotel. We didn't know that this resto serves a buffet lunch and ala carte as well. Buffet starts at 11 PM but they are open as early as 9AM for ala carte orders. At dahil tommy kame ng bongga we opted the buffet lunch and waited for 2 hrs. HUWAT?!Thanks to waway's kind waiter for he allowed us to stay inside, use the WIFI and charge all our gadgets.

FOOD:
It's a buffet lunch but here are the top 3 dishes that you should not miss to eat when you go to WAWAY's.

Super sarap!!!

Masarap!!!

Aside from these 3 amazing bicolano dishes they also serve appetizers, soup, inihaw, at libre din ang juice.
PHP 250 is not bad at all. Dont miss this out when you go to Albay. Not sure if they have other branches but this one is just near the airport kaya pwedeng pwede kayo bumisita before kayo umalis sa legazpi. GOOD JOB WAWAY'S!!!!!

2nd: 1st COLONIAL GRILL
        villa amada building
        rizal st.,Sagpon
        Daraga,albay

This is the home of the "SILING ICE CREAM"..... HMMM.. Iniisip ko pa lang napapalunok na ko. Para kasing hindi ko siya ma take. In spite of that nakakalokang pananaw sa lasa ng sili ice cream, hindi pa rin kame nag paawat at pinuntahan pa din namen ang 1st colonial to try their specialty as well.

Colonial's version of BICOL EXPRESS. - The best bicol express I've tasted in our stay.  Not too spicy and the gata melts it your mouth.

BUKO CHOPSUEY- Eewwy pakinggan at isipin pero sabi nga nila dont judge the book by its cover cause you're not a judge. haha waley!!!! Masarap to. pangalawa sa pinaka bet ko.

TINUTONG NA MANOK- XXX triple x. Best seller daw, pero not for me and my panlasa.

CRISPY PATA- NORMY!!!! Nothing special.

SILI SHAKE - anghang na di mo inakala. I can't describe the taste. It's sweet but there's like a hagod of  "hang-hang" sa dulo. hahaha. I DONT LIKE IT.

PILI SHAKE - Masarap. Refreshing. From the root word "PILI" hahaha made of pili nut siya..

For me, medyo overrated ang 1st colonial.
PRICE IS OVERRATED 1st COLONIAL!

3rd stop: BIGG'S DINER
              Rizal st., Daraga,Albay
              Branches: Pacific Mall
                                Embarcadero

I heard that this is considered the JABI of BICOL. Chicken and fries and peg. Mukang sosyalin tignan dahil vintage ang peg. HMM... ang tanong????????????????????????????????????????????? Malalaman naten.
BIGG ba ang quality? o BIGG ang charge?

Vlads ordered BACON CHEESE BURGER WITH FRIES. His verdict - "Expensive for its taste"

My SALISBURY STEAK - check naman siya for me. Mas masarap kesa sa Jabi. Sa pag kakatanda ko PHP125 lang cia, so not bad.

Garo's GOTO AT TOKWAT BABOY - I remember seeing her face na dismayadong dismayado, pero dedma na lang daw kasi mura lang naman. Wala man lang daw sauce ang tokwat baboy. hahaha..

Emets and monching ordered the BUDGET CHICKEN MEAL. A chicken and bbq combo.
The verdict?

Well, we all have diffent tastes when it comes to food. As for my hatol, I WONT RECOMMEND this resto specially sa mga turistang nag titipid or dun sa mga backpackers. ITS NOT WORTH IT BIGG'S!! peace.

excited pa bago pumasok sa BIGG's.

4th: SMALL TALK CAFE
      051 Dona Aurora St.
      Legazpi City
      Phone : (052) 480-1393

A small talk in a small Cafe. This one is really cute. It looks like a house na ginawang resto.

Here's what we ordered:

PILI PIE - its not too sweet. I like it. Hindi nakakasuya at infairview PHP 55 lang siya. BEST BUY!

BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE- Of course hindi mawawala sken ang cheesecake. Panalo din siya for me.
Di nakakasuya ang lasan.

MAYON RAVIOLI PASTA - eto talaga ung totoong pasabog sa small talk cafe!!! As we all know ravioli is an italian pasta usually filled with meat or cheese. Pero dito sa small talk, PINANGAT ang nasa loob ng ravioli which is truly unique at hindi na rin cia masama for the price of around PHP90

My over all judgment? It is truly a must try in legazpi! We never had the chance to try other dishes kase busog na kame from our dinner. Sabi nga namen sayang at sana dun na lang kame nag dinner natuwa pa kame. This resto is something that Bicolanos should be proud of. Every food in the menu has a touch of Bicol taste. BRAVO SMALL TALK CAFE!!!

5th: SIBID SIBID
      Peñaranda St., Bonot Legazpi City

I'm not really sure what SIBID SIBID means in BICOLANO but whatever it is I'm sure it has something to do with seafoods.

CALAMARES - isa to sa pahabol order namen, dahil lahat kami nag extra rice. OK naman cia. SO_SO.

SIZZLING ULO NG PUSIT - another pampulutan.

HOMEMADE MANGO ICE CREAM- TWO THUMBS UP.

HAHA. I think this is the resto to beat in terms of taste and value for money. Walang sayang. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED specially for FOREIGN tourists!!

6th: EMBARCADERO de LEGAZPI MALL
       Legazpi Port,Victory Village
       Legazpi City

Embarcadero is like the MOA of Legazpi. It's a huge mall with different stores and restaurants along the seaside.

Maganda ung place, malamig at masarap maglakad lakad.

Masiramon an pagkain na iniyo bicolanos!!!!! tama ba?!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
